I recently ordered a pair of Apogee's 20 x 100 Astro-Vue Binoculars (8.5 lbs.) and tried them out with a fairly rigid Benbo tripod. The optical performance seemed good considering the modest price of $300. However, the tripod limited me to objects not very high above the horizon. Can anyone recommend a high, sturdy tripod that would enable me to view close to the zenith? ( I tried

using them with my Vista parallelogram type mount but they were much too heavy for the mount.) Jon Greenberg
