(ATMoB:Discuss) MOS solar system to be filmed - assistance needed

The following request for assistance was received yesterday evening from a BU graduate student. She and her classmates are working on a television project with the Boston Museum of Science covering the MOS made-to-scale solar system. She is looking for one or more individuals who would help them by traveling with them in and around Boston to the locations of the models of the planets and be filmed giving descriptions of each planet - short descriptions to be created and presented by the amateur astronomer. Some filming may also be done while on public transportation enroute to the sites. The day would end at the MOS garage roof top for filming during the lunar eclipse. All expenses for the day would be covered. Anyone can help. I asked if a parent with their youngsters or a group of teenagers could help, or if she was looking for only adults. She liked the idea of having older kids too. I also suggested that the filming be broken into several days since the models are located around Boston and environs and there may not be enough time in one day to cover them all. The student’s contact information is included in the email which follows. Please Cc me on your email to Gaia if you think that you can help her.

Thank you,

Eileen Myers

 Greetings Amateur Astronomers,

I'm a graduate student at Boston University and my classmates and I are

doing a TELEVISION PROJECT WITH THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE to film

an exhibit called the "Community Solar System."  It's basically a to-scale

exhibit of all the planets in the solar system scattered around the city.  For

example, the sun is in the lobby of the museum, while Pluto is way out at

Riverside station on the D-line.

To spice up our television piece, we'd like to have someone on camera to

come with us THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2003 (I apologize for the

incredibly short notice!) to see the planets at the various locations around

the city and then end the day on the roof of the Museum of Science for their

"Lunar Eclipse Star Party."

If anyone is interested in helping us out (and checking out a cool exhibit at

the same time) please give me a call at 617-571-1123.  This is my cell

phone so feel free to call after business hours today or on Friday.

Thanks so much and happy star-gazing!
