(ATMoB:Discuss) scope tubes
Hi,
I ran across the following web site
for rocketry and/or possible ATM purposes...
www.giantleaprocketry dot com
It seems they have some pretty good
7.5" diameter tubes that would be perfect for my 6" scope project..
Unfortunately they don't have 7" tubes, or anything larger than 7.5".
Ed, returned my e-mail over the weekend, and states that other ATM'ers
have contacted him in the past, and suggests that I use his fiberglass
sock material to reinforce the tube further. It seems like this
might make a pretty decent tube.
Has anyone at ATMoB ever done business
with this company? Any opinions?
Yeah, I know fiberglass can be a stinky
and messy business, but this seems to be a very affordable solution.
Parks pre-fab fiberglass tubing is quite pricy. I'd prefer the Parks
7" tube rather than this 7.5" option, but I can deal with an
extra 0.5" if it'll decrease the cost. It shouldn't affect the
size/weight and portability (my goals in this project) much.
Anyone know where one might be able
to obtain similar stuff, but 7" in diameter?
Gary
