My baader solar film arrived yesterday. Lo and behold.. Rain. So no night OR day observing :) During the week is fine.. but rain over a long weekend is a real bummer.
Tal, let me know how you like your new LX200 GPS. I've heard good things about them. I have a 10" LX200 classic. I'm curious if the goto and gears are better (probably are). The classic sounds like a loud coffee grinder. Hopefully they quieted things down a bit with the GPS. The new nexstar-type hand controller appears much better than the old.. mine has a nice rattle to it (loose something or other inside). It works, soI woudn't expect much difference in sound. I have an LX90 and have had it next to the latest 10" LX200's and I can tell you that the LX200 is much louder than my 8". I suspect it's just the difference in gear size between the two. The 10" is a lot bulkier than my 8". Much more than I expected. I've heard that they work great, so the noise is worth the distraction.Davei'm counting my blessings.

Tal:
Order several more!!! We can use the rain. (Sorry to those that want to look
at the heavens - but sometimes there are more important issues!).
