This is waaaay off topic, but your lament reminded of a story I remember
seeing in a magazine in the early 60s (I think it was LIFE magazine).  A
German fellow had the same complaint with low-flying planes.  He made a
giant dumpling catapult and used it to launch big soggy dumplings at planes
on their approach.  As far as I know, he never hit one.  Good thing.
