To All:
I just ran across an interesting statement about the year of my birth, 1938
( a long-long time ago to X-gens ).
It said that a 500 ton meteorite landed on Pittsbugh, PA. on June 26th. Yet
I never heard of any damage caused by it. At a density of about 0.35 pound
per cubic inch, and weight of 1,000,000 pounds, that would be a volume
of 350,000 cu.in. or a cube 70 X 70 70 inches. A 6 foot object should
make quite a crater !!
Do any of you meteor experts have any further info? Do you know where the
meteorite is now?
