(ATMoB:Discuss) The old Star Registry scam

I was listening to WEEI (OK, I'll admit it) and heard them running an ad for
the "International Star Registry". For those that don't know, this is the
outfit that claims to name "your star" in an "official" book. Of course,
this naming is not recognized by any scientific institution. Registries of
this sort are generally considered to be one step short of outright scams.

I sent an email explaining this to the advertising director. Having a wife
who worked in radio for years, I know that advertising directors are
generally immune to reason (heck, most of them aren't even polysyllabic),
but I thought I'd try.

If anyone else wants to be a pain in the you-know-what, hop on the WEEI.COM
web site and fire off a letter of protest.
