(ATMoB:Discuss) Stop me before I buy again.
I sort of drifted back by the Natural Wonders Store in the Burlington Mall
again at lunch. While the stock is thinning out, they've still got a
handful of the 6mm Celestron Plossls (they asked $25, I offered $12--sold)
and a huge pile of the Meade junk Kellners. There are still 4 or 5 of the
Celestron Nexstar 4" Maksutovs, a Nexstar 5" and an 8", all in varying
stages of completeness. There are still at least a dozen of the Nexstar
tripods, too. The rest of the stuff is even junkier. The Nexstar 4"s are
all priced around $375 or $400, but read on...
I saw a Nexstar 5 with a note that it wouldn't move on the azimuth axis.
Optically it looked just fine. Maybe the problem is fixable, or maybe I
remove the tube and end up with a C5 and spare parts for my other Nexstar.
They were asking $400. I offered $100 and they took it. The point is,
treat the price tags as irrelevent. They're accepting some pretty bold
offers if you've got the chutzpah to make them.
As far as I know, the Burlington Mall store is the only one still open.
Today or maybe tomorrow is it.
